Position title: Medical Director, Clinical Programs & Outcomes
Position type: Full-time
Location: Remote (U.S. only) or Boston-based
About Goodpath:
Goodpath is a virtual health company delivering personalized, integrative care programs for individuals with chronic conditions. We combine evidence-based conventional medicine with complementary therapies to provide effective, cost-efficient care for conditions that impact quality of life, including musculoskeletal disorders, metabolic conditions (including overweight, prediabetes and diabetes), functional gastrointestinal issues, and cancer. We also address mental health and sleep both as primary concerns and as common comorbidities associated with chronic medical issues, recognizing their role in overall health and well-being.
Our integrative care model takes a whole-person approach, treating underlying and co-existing conditions in a coordinated rather than isolated manner. Care is delivered through a unique, hybrid model that blends digital content, mailed care kits, health coaching and teletherapy, ensuring accessibility and engagement across a diverse population.
Goodpath is a mission-driven company in an exciting growth stage and we expect 2025-26 to be even more successful. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you’ll play an instrumental role in advancing the success of our care programs.
Job Description:
Goodpath is seeking a Medical Director with direct patient care experience and a strong foundation in data analytics, clinical outcomes research, and quality improvement. This individual will play a central role in member care, as well as lead the outcomes measurement strategy across all the conditions we serve, using data to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of our care delivery model.
The Medical Director will work closely with clinical, operations and product teams to care for members, while also analyzing member data to identify meaningful patterns in outcomes and uncover areas where care can be improved. Their insights will inform changes to care pathways, provider practices, and digital tools, helping ensure that care is not only evidence-based but also efficient and personalized.
The ideal candidate also has a proven ability to communicate findings to both scientific and non-scientific audiences. Additionally, this role will involve contributing to research efforts that demonstrate the clinical impact and economic value of Goodpath’s integrative approach.
This is a high-impact role at the crossroads of clinical care, operations, research, and commercial strategy. The Medical Director will report into the VP of Clinical Development.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary clinical advisor on complex member care issues, with the potential to provide direct virtual care and prescribing as our capabilities expand.
Oversee a comprehensive outcomes measurement strategy central to Goodpath’s clinical care model:
Track and refine a set of clinically meaningful, evidence-based metrics that reflect improvements in symptoms, function, mental health, and overall quality of life across diverse chronic conditions (e.g., metabolic, musculoskeletal, GI, mental health, sleep, oncology).
Apply insights from outcomes data to lead care quality improvement efforts:
Conduct root cause analyses of underperforming clinical segments.
Collaborate with providers, operations and product teams to iterate on care plans, adjust protocols, and personalize interventions.
Develop closed-loop feedback systems to monitor the impact of changes on outcomes.
Contribute to research publications that demonstrate the effectiveness of Goodpath’s integrative model.
Support commercial and marketing efforts by translating the clinical impact and value of Goodpath’s model into compelling narratives for key stakeholders (e.g. employers, payers, and strategic partners).
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in healthcare delivery, data privacy, and security, fostering a culture of safety and confidentiality
Qualifications:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
Active and unrestricted U.S. medical license with board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Obesity Medicine, or PM&R, with no past, current or pending disciplinary action
At least 3 years of direct patient care experience in an outpatient setting (e.g. primary care or family medicine), demonstrating expertise in managing chronic conditions, particularly musculoskeletal and/or metabolic diseases
Demonstrated experience implementing and operationalizing evidence-based clinical outcome measures
Experience refining care protocols based on performance metrics and outcome trends
Hands-on experience in quality improvement initiatives
Strong background in clinical research, implementation science, or real-world evidence (RWE) generation, with contributions to peer-reviewed publications or white papers
