Abdominal pain related to bowel movements
Abdominal pain that gets better or worse with bowel movement is one of the main symptoms of IBS, as defined by the IBS Rome IV Criteria. You're more likely to be diagnosed with IBS if this type of pain happens at least once a week in the last 3 months (and is accompanied by one more symptom).
If your symptoms do not exactly fit the criteria, it is still possible for you to have IBS. Learn about how it can start and some other common symptoms of IBS here.
